The biggest difference between Apple and Microsoft is their approach on which platform a specific device should run with. And I'm talking of their operating system use. Ever since, Microsoft has always relied on their flagship product, the Windows operating system. All their softwares are tied into it and all their other offerings run on a Windows platform, even with their smartphone OSes. Apple on the other hand is taking a completely different path. They let their beefy operating system, OS X, run on their desktop units, and created an entirely different operating system, the iOS, for their portable and mobile devices. Apple's approach is quite tricky, but it sure worked. Microsoft's strategy, however, did little for their own good. And now comes Windows 8. Microsoft plans on doing the same thing they did years ago, run it for all devices. But this time around, Microsoft is saying that everything is taken care of. Windows 8 can handle every devices. PCs, mobile phones, laptops and tablets - all of them can run on Windows 8, and there's no stopping Microsoft from doing just that. Hopefully they can pull things properly, and by late next year, we can see all these devices running smoothly on Windows 8.
